Privacy policy

NB Projects is a building, electrical, painting, maintenance and compliance company operating in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy covers www.nbprojects.co.za and explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

We collect only what you type into the contact form. Nothing else on this site asks you for personal information, and we do not buy or import contact details from anywhere.

• Your name, so we know who we are speaking to.
• Your email address, so we can reply.
• Your phone number, which is optional, and only used if calling you back is quicker than writing.
• The service you selected and your message, so we can answer the actual question.
• The date and time you submitted, so we can tell how long an enquiry has been waiting.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. That is why this site shows no cookie banner: it sets no tracking cookies.

To respond to your enquiry, quote on the work, and carry it out if you go ahead. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or rent them to anyone.

Your enquiry is stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database and is also emailed to us through Resend. This website is hosted on Vercel. All three process the data on servers in the United States. We also use Sentry to record technical errors, which processes data in the European Union, and which we tell only the type of service you selected, never your name, email address, phone number or message.

Because those providers are outside South Africa, submitting the form involves a cross-border transfer of your personal information as contemplated by section 72 of POPIA.

Each of these providers is bound by contractual data-protection terms that require a level of protection comparable to POPIA. If you would prefer not to send personal information across a border, email or phone us instead of using the form.

Only the NB Projects team, and the service providers named above acting on our instructions. Stream Labs maintains this website for us and may see enquiry data while doing so. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

We keep enquiries for three years from the date you send them. Past clients often come back, and the history of what was quoted and discussed is genuinely useful when they do. After three years we delete them. If you would like yours removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete what we no longer need to keep
• stop using your details for a particular purpose

Email info@nbprojects.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

The site is served over HTTPS. The database is reachable only with credentials that are held as protected secrets and are not published anywhere, and only people who need enquiry data to do their job have them. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
